Edgar J. Fisher Jr. Obituary
Edgar
J. Fisher Jr. of Richmond, died Sunday, December 11, 2005. He was born
June 3, 1919 in Istanbul, Turkey, where his father was Dean of Robert
College. He graduated from the College of William & Mary in 1942,
and served four years in the U.S. Navy as a full lieutenant. Mr. Fisher
was director of Virginia Council on Health and Medical Care from 1948
to 1984. He served on several boards including Needles Eye Ministries,
Christian Counseling Training Center, and held numerous offices with
the Richmond Public Relations Association. He was board member and vice
president of The Medical Society of Virginia Foundation, founder and
trustee of Cross-Over Ministries, and had many affiliations with other
civic organizations. He served as an elder at St. Giles Presbyterian
Church. Mr. Fisher was listed in Who's Who in the World and Who's Who
in America. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Anne
Hill Fisher, and is survived by his wife, Constance Fleming Warwick
Fisher; daughter, Elisabeth Anne Fisher of Richmond; stepsons, William
T. Warwick of Richmond, and Peter C. Warwick III of Harvard, Idaho; and
two grandchildren, Piper and Temple Warwick. He will be missed by many
devoted friends. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday,
December 14, at St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Private interment in
Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
