The Edgar J. Fisher, Jr. Society

“Well done good and faithful servant…”

Edgar J. Fisher

Edgar Jacob Fisher, Jr. was a man of devout faith and a philanthropist, always striving to show the love of God through service to his fellow man. His greatest passion in life was bringing compassionate healthcare to the needy.

In 1982, Mr. Fisher, along with other local Christians, founded Cross Over Ministry in response to the desperate medical needs of Richmond’s inner city poor. He was instrumental in raising the consciousness of the community regarding the importance of healthcare for the indigent, and in raising the money necessary to provide quality care.

The Edgar J. Fisher, Jr. Society was initiated on December 1, 2005, by the Cross Over Ministry Board of Directors to honor Edgar J. Fisher, Jr. Founder, and Trustee Emeritus. The society is intended to pay tribute to Edgar’s legacy of fund development excellence, and to honor his lifetime of work on behalf of the poor. Edgar’s love of the Lord was lived out in his service to others through Cross Over Ministry. “Well done good and faithful servant.”
